Microsoft’s SQL Server for Linux and SAP HANA are slowly eating Oracle’s core database business. MS and SAP cloud options currently looks stronger than Oracle’s cloud offering.
Diversity in acquired apps portfolio slows down new releases and integration efforts. For example, API Gateway is still 32 bit app.
There is no SPARC ecosystem like IBM’s PowerPC cooperation with Google for some representation in its datacenters, or with SAP as a supported platform for HANA.
OpenSolaris is deliberately discontinued many years ago. Ask SUSE or Red Hat about importance to have OpenSUSE or CentOS.
Java support is not at the level expected by Java community with delays in specifications and releases.
